Sam Getting Ready for School
Hello Sam Fans,
Finally after 2 1/2 weeks of healing, swelling reduction and medication tweeking, we think Sam is ready to get back into school this week.
We’ll try some half days this week and we’re pretty sure he’ll do fine. We’re finally back to his old regime.
So, the success of the surgery? Well, we do notice less drooling. However, he still has a lot of secretions in his nose and some in trach. So, we may have to wait another few weeks to figure out if that is here to stay or if it will get better as his activity level returns to normal.
His right side of his mouth still has decreased muscle control when he frowns (he’s a little one-sided). However, there is a little movement. The nerve may have been permanently damaged. Sigh. However, we can still hope for future healing.
Please pray for Sam to have a good transition back to school and consistent nursing care to accompany him there.
much love,
Kelly & David, Sam, Tevah, Jacob and Simone
